We zijn momenteel op zoek naar een Senior Accountant.
PURPOSE
To ensure a smooth running of all accounting and reporting activities within the company. That includes IFRS and BE GAAP reporting, consolidation of foreign affiliates and the management of Tax & VAT.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Control process
- Oversee the accounting, invoicing, purchase order system and payment cycles as handled by the accountant to certify monthly and periodic close. Coordinate the periodic reporting of Company Balance sheet, P&L and Cash flow. Keep track of the major variances.
- Oversee the accounting for the Affiliates as handled by the accountant (who handles to day-to-day accounting matters). Oversee the co-operation with the external accounting offices for the affiliates.
- Preparation of periodic financial reports for and with auditors and for management / Board as required.
In particular, manage the mid-year and year-end close and reporting of consolidated statements in IFRS (including disclosures).
- Financial management of the insurance policies.
- Cash management.
- Maintain the link between Human Resources management and Finance.
Fiscal optimisation
- Preparation of VAT, Intrastat, subsidy reporting (IWT …) and annual tax returns
- Use of tax saving measures as permitted by law in Belgium and the other countries where Movetis operates, to include accumulated tax credits, patent income deduction, notional interest deduction, consolidation or not of revenue from subsidiaries, special situations with employees / contractors.
Operational Optimisation
- Implementation and optimisation of accounting/ERP package in line with expanding business requirements (Sales, Production/Inventory, Human Resources, etc).
- Critical assessment of current accounting processes with a view to further optimize. Put systems and processes in place to allow a stable accounting environment.
- Documentation of existing processes and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Master in accountancy (and tax)
- Previous hands-on experience with IFRS
- Knowledge of Belgian Social Law
- Ability to work and produce financial reports (incl. disclosures) in Dutch and English (BEGAAP and IFRS)
- Experience with Tax & VAT declarations
- Experience with consolidation
- Hands-on
- Accurate, analytical, reliable, discreet, proactive, able to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Team player
- Practical, correct and diplomatic attitude to meet the due dates, to communicate with the departments and to satisfy the company objectives
- MS Office, MS Dynamics (Axapta), Atlas
EXPERIENCE
Minimum experience needed, both inside and outside the company
Minimum 10 years hands-on accountancy experience of which 2-3 years in a similar position in an international environment. Experience of the life sciences sector in a commercial organisation recommended
